CHICAGO– Opening Minds USA™ announced Spiffy Pictures the winner of its Innovation Award. The Opening Minds Innovation Award, a signature Opening Minds event, honors individuals and organizations throughout the nation whose innovations advance the field of early childhood education.
Opening Minds presented the award on Friday, January 27, 2017 at a private reception at the Sheraton Grand Chicago during the Opening Minds Early Childhood Education, Child Care, and School Age Conference and Expo.
Spiffy Pictures current hit animated series Nature Cat is co-produced by and airs daily on WTTW Chicago. Nature Cat received a coveted 2016 Daytime Emmy® Award Nomination for Outstanding Writing in an Animated Program, a Television Critics Association Award Nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Youth Programming and a Common Sense Media Seal for TV, recognizing the series for providing families an exceptional media experience.

Nature Cat is a show that gets kids excited about the wonders of nature and encourages families to go on active outdoor adventures. In October 2016, Spiffy Pictures announced a second and third season of Nature Cat.
