Clinical Social Worker, Wise Choice Guidance
Learn how to make exceptions to group norms in order to meet individual needs while treating all children fairly and creating compassionate classrooms.
My professional mission has long been to support teachers and parents to be more psychologically sensitive to children. Helping teachers understand how individualized planning within a group setting and willingness to make exceptions to group norms when needed enable children to function successfully has been a passion of mine for many years. I am proud of my ability to present a specific philosophy and, perhaps more importantly, specific strategies, including words to use with children, that work to help children accept individualizing without feeling that it is "unfair."
